The gorgeous jewelry in today’s blog post is designed and sponsored by James Avery! I am a James Avery Ambassador and love the joy and message each piece of James Avery jewelry brings. All thoughts, experiences, and opinions are my own!
As a kid, there wasn’t much better than the first week of summer after a long school year. Having two months to play outside, sleep in, stay up late, spend time with family and friends, watch TV, go on adventures, and experience boredom. Those were the days! While I cant take two months off of work, there’s no reason I can’t use the summer to refuel my body and spirit!
Maybe it’s just me, but as soon as September rolls around life is go, go, go until June. I’m tackling large projects at work, running my kids back and forth to school/daycare, squeezing as much as I can into the weekend, sitting in traffic, and keeping warm during the cold winter months. There are so many fun moments during the school year, but the pace is fast and sometimes furious.
The summer is the perfect time to slow things down, to bring back those little reminders from my own childhood, and to create new memories with my family and friends. Although it’s hot, there’s no better time than the summer to refuel and recharge after a long academic year!
Spending more time outdoor, wearing my favorite summer dresses and James Avery Jewelry, drinking iced coffee, traveling with my family, watching the sunset, and eating lots of fresh seasonal fruits and veggies. It doesn’t get much better!
The summer passes far too quickly, but I’ve come to realize how important it is to make the most of every single moment and to turn off my TV, phone, and computer. Taking the time each day to go for a long walk or hike with my family, to spend our weekends outside of the house instead of inside, and to find the peace in the beauty around me.
Maybe it’s common sense, but I find that you have to be intentional now a days. You have to make a decision to slow things down, to say yes more, to say no more, and to enjoy the present moment. As June comes to a close and I look towards the last two months of summer before school begins, I’m excited to take a step back, to enjoy many of my favorite things, and to use the summer to refuel my body and spirit!
