The Bump – 36 weeks, 1 day
Thoughts and Feelings – After all that week 35 held, I prayed for a quiet week. Overall, I felt much better this week. This week, my goal was to focus on getting things done in the office, tackling more on my “before baby checklist”, and getting plenty of rest. For the most part, the week was far less stressful, but I still had to work hard at managing stressful situations. At this point, I am just really praying the baby stays put until my mom gets into town. I am working hard to have everything done at work by June 29th.
One of the highlights of the week was visiting the Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. After a great academic year, it was so nice visiting the winery with my dear co-workers.
While I couldn’t enjoy the wine, I bought 2 bottles for after the baby arrives. I enjoyed a glass of sparkling lemonade and the beautiful view while my co-workers did a full tasting. It was such a fun evening and a perfect day outside!
Movement – The baby is definitely lower than last week, which is exciting and scary all at the same time. He’s still quite active and is still moving around.
Symptoms – I didn’t have any out of ordinary symptoms. I felt really great physically this week and slept well throughout the week.
Appointments – I have appointments every Thursday until the baby arrives. Everything looked great at my 36 week appointment and I’m already a centimeter dilated. I have an ultrasound scheduled for June 29, so I’ll have a better sense of how the baby’s measuring at 38 weeks if he doesn’t arrive before then. I’m hoping he arrives between June 29 and his due date (July 13).
