34 Weeks Pregnant

Thoughts and Feelings – Overall, I’m feeling really great!  I’m sleeping well, eating well, and although uncomfortable at times, have quite a bit of energy.  It is really starting to hit me that I only have 4 work weeks left until July, so I’m working really, really hard to get everything done.  I’ve been working late on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which I love being the office is so quite and I’m able to focus.  All in all though, I’m feeling really good and I’m really excited to have this baby!

The Bump –

34 Weeks Pregnant
Movement – Baby is still moving a lot in the afternoon and in the middle of the night. I can tell he’s starting to run out of room, but he’s still moving quite a bit.

Symptoms – This week, to the right of my belly button, I developed a sore spot. It feels like I have a bruise there. My doctor said it can happen if the baby is constantly pushing on one spot and is nothing to worry about. I’m not in pain, but it is definitely sore to the touch.

Pregnancy Brain – Well, on Monday we went strawberry picking and I made my FAVORITE strawberry rhubard crumble…. except, I totally forgot to add flour!!! I pulled it out of the oven and was like “WHAT THE HECK”.  It is essentially baked oatmeal… Fail!

Third Trimester To Do List Progress – I am going to work really hard this month to have everything prepped before July 1. I’d love to hit July and just be able to relax until baby arrives. I have narrowed down my to do list, created monthly goals for June, and am going to use our weekends wisely!

Things left to accomplish this month…
-Call insurance to make sure they are aware of my upcoming delivery
-Organize baby’s clothes and store
-Wash burp rags, swaddles, crib sheets, and blankets
-Wash baby gear and set everything up
-Install the baby’s car seat base into our cars
-Pull out leftover baby diapers from when we had Magnolia
-Buy additional of diapers
-Move Magnolia’s play area down to our finished basement and set up that space
-Move baby’s gear into our main living room (rock n play, changing area, etc.)
-Get my hair done before baby
-Plan outfits for newborn photo shoot (Neal, Ashley, Magnolia, and baby boy)
-Pack hospital bag (use this bag as an example)

At Work by June 29
-Finalize maternity leave plan
-Create a plan for return to office after short term disability leave (6 weeks)
-Wrap up projects and to do list prior to departure
-Clean my office and mini fridge

Appointments –  I had an appointment yesterday and it went well.  It was a really short appointment.  They checked my weight, urine sample, and measured my belly.  I asked the doctor a few questions and I was done.  My next appointment is at 36 weeks and then I’ll move to weekly appointments. CRAZY!

Diet – Gosh. I have no idea.  I think I’ve eaten pretty well, but honestly, I wasn’t focused on my diet this week.  Work is really, really busy and I’ve just been fueling my body as best I can, while not sweating the small stuff.  I usually have a healthy breakfast at home, pack my lunch most days, and then eat dinner with Neal and Magnolia.  I had a few work events this week that provided lunch and those were delicious!  We had BBQ on Wednesday and I had some BBQ chicken, mac n’ cheese, roasted veggies, and 2 mini cornbread muffins.  Yesterday we had California Tortilla.  Although I ordered a burrito the salad they had totally hit the spot!  I had two servings of salad, chips with guacamole and queso, and a delicious chocolate chip cookie.  I then had my burrito for dinner in the office since I worked until 8PM.  All in all, I’m feeling good and my weight gain has actually stalled, which is nice.

Food Cravings –  CAVA!  Mediterranean flavors, pickled things, and protein.  I did not have a taste for coffee this past week, which was interesting.

Workouts –

Thursday – Rest day
Friday – OrangeTheory
Saturday – Lots of walking!
Sunday – Lots of walking!
Monday – OrangeTheory with Neal
Tuesday – Rest day
Wednesday – Rest day

OrangeTheory Workout
Sleep –  I slept really well this week!  I’m still going to bed really early, which my body (and mind) need.  I’m really trying to sleep and nap as much as I can before baby arrives.  A mistake I made before having Magnolia.

Woof, what a weird, sad, depressing, and confusing Woof, what a weird, sad, depressing, and confusing first week of the year.

To focus on the good, I took care of myself this week. I did multiple meditations, took time to be outside, made realistic to do lists, established boundaries to give myself space, celebrated my daughter’s thriving in their first week back to virtual learning post break, and focused on the things I love.

One moment I treasure each work day are those first 15 minutes. I look out the window, drink my coffee, and make a list of everything on my mind (Brain Dump). It gives me clarity, focus, and just a moment for ME. Before meetings, before projects, before serving others, I take a moment for ME!

What did you do for YOU this week?

Last January I just felt awful. Seasonal depressio Last January I just felt awful. Seasonal depression was on the horizon, there weren’t things to look forward to, and little did I know a global pandemic was around the corner. I keep saying 2020 was the year I needed to turn things around, and I mean it. I found CBD, which helped my anxiety/stress/depression, I was blessed with more time with my family, I moved more, and I lost weight. It has been really good for me to open up to my needs and to allow change to happen. I continue to work on being MY best self, which is a battle as I’ve spent so much of my life trying to be better for others. It’s a shift I’m here for! Really looking forward to today and the days ahead.
A fresh start. One of the many reasons I love new A fresh start. One of the many reasons I love new years. Today I opened my new (and first) Archetypes deck, which brought lots of joy. I started with an interview, getting to know the deck, and then did a reading for 2021. I’ve always loved Tarot cards and knew I wanted my own (thanks, Neal!). This is The Wild Unknown Archetypes Deck and it’s just beautiful ❤️
I am so thankful for this year. The lessons learne I am so thankful for this year. The lessons learned, the challenges, and the great slow down. I needed this year and I do not want to go back to the life I had before March 13, 2020. I continue to pray that my family and friends around the globe remain healthy and that we’ll see each other again soon. I will never take them or our time together for granted again. 2021, let’s go!
