We had such a wonderful long weekend here at home! I kicked off the long weekend with an early morning workout at OrangeTheory, a great day at work, and then a fun evening at home with Neal and Magnolia until my sister arrived from Penn State.
Saturday morning Magnolia was up at 6AM, asking for pasta of course, so we started the day early. Magnolia wasn’t in the best mood on Saturday, but we were still able to do a lot despite her toddler tantrums. Saturday morning we welcomed some friends over for a play date, which was awesome! It was so, so, so good to see my dear friend Megan.
Afterwards we had lunch as a family and then my sister and I ran some errands while Magnolia napped. We stopped by Lane Bryant, BuyBuy Baby, and Great Harvest.
Saturday night Neal worked at the DC Divas game, but Magnolia, Alison, and I stayed at home in Maryland. Alison treated me to Cava, which was delicious and we watched Me Before You after Magnolia went to bed. It was a fun night at home.
Sunday morning we woke up early and drove into the city to visit the Dupont Farmers Market. I had been wanting to visit it for some time and I’m glad we went! It was a really nice farmers market, but it was very crowded! The Olney farmers market is still my favorite in the Maryland/DC area.
We picked up a few things at the market and then headed back to Maryland. It was a quick trip, but a fun adventure. The chocolate milk was delicious and totally hit the spot!
On our way back home we swung by Costco and picked up quite a few things. I figured it was as good a time as ever to stock up our non-perishables (toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, etc). We spent the rest of the day at home, relaxing! It was a really nice day.
Yesterday morning Neal and I worked out at OrangeTheory together! It was awesome! Since Alison was in town, I figured it was worth seeing if Neal would want to join me. The workout was pretty tough (pregnant or not) and not a traditional OTF workout, but Neal killed it! It was so fun working out together!
Afterwards I made us breakfast and enjoyed some peace and quiet before Magnolia and Alison woke up. After making everyone else breakfast, we all got cleaned up and then headed over to Butler’s Orchard to pick strawberries.
We love Butler’s Orchard and had a wonderful time! We went early, when it was still cloudy out, and I’m so glad we beat the crowds and the sun. It was perfect.
Magnolia loved picking strawberries and did a great job! It was so cute! I loved comparing this year’s pictures with last year’s! This has become a fun Memorial Day tradition for our family.
Once home, we settled in and then I started making our Memorial Day Lunch. We enjoyed hamburgers, hotdogs, salads, baked beans, and of course, strawberries! It was a super yummy lunch.
Alison and I spent the rest of the afternoon washing and cutting up strawberries, both for the week ahead and for our favorite Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble.
Alison left around 3PM and then Neal and I both took a nap while Magnolia napped. It was glorious! After our naps we went for a family walk, enjoyed dinner together (leftovers), and then settled in for the night.
Much like Theodore, we’re all pretty tired, but we had a wonderful weekend! I’m grateful for both of my parent’s service in the Air Force, for Memorial Day, and for the 4 day work week ahead of us. Here’s to a great week!
