Hello from Texas! This week we’re in Texas, spending time with my family and dear friends. We had planned this time away a few months ago, but it came at an absolutely perfect time! It hasn’t been a few weeks, but I’m so extremely grateful for the love and support that surrounds our family. Being here in Texas is quite the treat and this week I’m going to share our day to day with you all.
When I first started blogging I loved sharing my day to day with you all. Over the years I’ve gotten away from that, mainly because my days are so routine. I know there is value in sharing my working mom days, but I think out of the ordinary days are a little more exciting! This week I am focused on recharging my batteries, spending time with loved ones, shopping for baby boy’s nursery, and soaking up plenty of Texas (sunshine, breakfast tacos, shopping, queso, and wildflowers).
Saturday morning we woke up early in DC and finished packing for Texas. The morning was cool, but by 10AM the day had already started to warm up so we headed to the park. By 11:30AM I was off to Virginia for a haircut and color with miss Shelby Anderson! She’s amazing, per usual, and it felt great to get a new color and cut! Afterwards I rushed home, loaded up the car, and then headed to the airport with Neal and Magnolia. Our flight to Texas was absolutely painless!!! Magnolia was awake for 2 of the 3 hours, but she was so happy and calm. She slept the last hour of the trip and was such a doll after landing at 11PM.
Sunday was our chill day here in Texas! We spent the day around my parents house, sleeping in, going to the park, eating lunch at home, running to HEB, napping, and having dinner as a family (crawfish and baked chicken). The greatest gift of this trip was arriving Saturday night and being surprised by my brother Paul who lives in Vegas! I had no idea he was coming, nobody did! I miss my family dearly, so I am excited to spend the week with them.
Today we’re driving up to the hill country, in search of bluebonnets, Texas antiques, and small towns. I can’t wait to share our day with you all tomorrow!
