A day that begins with breakfast tacos and ends with Texas BBQ is a great day in my book! Yesterday was a really fun day here in San Antonio, including the storms that came through after lunch. We started off our day with breakfast tacos, which were delicious! There’s not much better than breakfast tacos (for those in DC, go to District Taco). After breakfast we got ready for the day and then headed to the McKenna Children’s Museum in New Braunfels, Texas.
The McKenna Children’s Museum was absolutely wonderful! It was small enough that Magnolia was able to run around freely, but had plenty of exhibits. There was an indoor and an outdoor portion to the museum, which was really great, and Magnolia LOVED the space exhibit! If you’re in the San Antonio/Austin area, I highly recommend this museum!
We left the museum around noon and headed home for lunch and Magnolia’s nap. It was perfect timing because a pretty good line of thunderstorms pushed through New Braunfels and San Antonio around 1:30PM. Napping during a thunderstorm is just about the greatest thing, so I enjoyed a quick power nap while Magnolia napped. I ended up skipping lunch yesterday, as I knew we were having BBQ for dinner.
Around 3PM Neal and I headed over to Oak Haven Massage for massages. I have been wanting/needing a massage for months now and I was excited to get a massage while in Texas. I found Oak Haven Massage online and the rates were awesome! All first time customers get a special rate, so Neal and I both got 80 minute massages at a rate of $88 each.
Neal got a traditional massage and I got an amazing prenatal massage. Although I’ve had a prenatal massage before, this one was hands down better! Instead of getting the massage while laying on my side, I was able to lay face down in this pregnancy pillow. The pillow made me laugh, but it was awesome! My massage was with Alberto and I highly recommend him if you’re in San Antonio.
After our massages we headed back to my parents house and picked up Rudy’s BBQ on our way home for my family. There’s not much better than Rudy’s brisket, so I was one happy pregnant momma! After dinner Neal, Magnolia, and I headed over to my best friend’s house for a few hours and then headed home to call it a night. It was a really fun and relaxing day and I’m so glad Neal and I took the time to get massages while we were here.
