Yesterday we had planned to go up to the Hill Country in the morning, but the weather was nasty and the rain didn’t seem to stop. I always forget how unpredictable Texas weather can be, especially when it comes to rain. In DC, if they say it’ll rain at 3PM, most likely it’ll rain at 3PM. Here, there’s still a 95% chance of a thunderstorm that hasn’t happened.
Although, in hind sight, we could have gone up to the hill country, we ended up staying around town yesterday. After sleeping in until EIGHT AM!! we headed down to Lulu’s for breakfast. Neal is a big cinnamon roll fan, and if you haven’t seen Lulu’s on a TV show, they have a 3 pound cinnamon roll that is actually really yummy. I totally forgot to take a picture of the monster, but the 4 of us shared the cinnamon roll and some eggs and had TONS leftover. It was a yummy breakfast. (Magnolia was so cute taking a photo in this sign. She didn’t get it and it was too cute!).
Afterwards we drove to an indoor play park for Magnolia. She absolutely loved jumping on the indoor trampoline and running around the indoor gym. It was really, really cute! We played there for over an hour and then stopped by Hobby Lobby before heading home. I am still trying to figure out the baby boy’s nursery, so I was hoping to gain some inspiration from Hobby Lobby… I didn’t, but it was still fun to swing in there.
For lunch I had half a sandwich at home and then headed up to the outlets with my mom. We ran into the Pottery Barn outlet and I finally found a baby bedding I was excited about. My mom was amazing and made Magnolia’s bedding, but I hadn’t found a fabric I was in love with. I ended up buying this adorable gray blanket, with a teal underside, and am going to start there. I bought two gray and teal sheet sets, the gray and teal blanket, and a beautiful comforter for Magnolia’s big girl room. I have so much I need to do before baby gets here, but I can’t wait to decorate these two rooms!
Once home, I joined Neal and Magnolia for a quick nap and then hung out with my family before dinner. My mom made some delicious homemade pizza and a big salad, which were delicious! We closed out our evening with a family walk before starting Magnolia’s bedtime routine.
Magnolia has done fairly well this trip, but she didn’t nap in her portable crib yesterday and then last night she struggled to go to bed. She ended up snuggling with me on the couch for a bit, which I didn’t mind. There’s not much better than toddler snuggle, a kicking baby in your belly, and a cold drink from Sonic!
We watched “Now You See Me 2” and then headed to bed. It was a really chill day, but we had a fun day running around town. Today is another rainy day, but we’re going to get out of the house after breakfast. For now, I’m sipping my coffee while everyone sleeps!
