Week 21 Overall – I love that I’m already 21 weeks pregnant! Last week was a pretty good week, but I’m starting to realize my limits as the baby grows. I have been feeling amazing during my workouts, but what I learned this week is that the after effects aren’t worth it. Last Monday I had an amazing workout at OrangeTheory and really pushed myself. I have been mainly walking at OrangeTheory during the treadmill portion of the workout, but on Monday I decided to run a bit. I felt great and had zero issues during the workout. My burpees were even great too! Well, Tuesday I was so incredibly sore. Being sore normally doesn’t phase me, but with a sore core and pregnancy, I was really hurting Tuesday. Although I can push myself in my workouts, I need to be smart and careful as the baby grows. Overall, it was a good week and I’m looking forward to getting closer to the 6th month mark.
The Bump – I feel like I have been growing slow and steady this pregnancy, but I definitely “popped” this week. I feel and look much more pregnant than in weeks past, which is fun. I love having a bump and belly, so I’m looking forward to this second half of pregnancy.
Gender – We’re having a boy!
Choosing a Name – I have a pretty good list going, but we haven’t picked a name. I’m having a much harder time finding a boy’s name I love, but I have a few that I really like.
Movement – I am feeling the baby kick a lot! He isn’t as active as Magnolia was at this point, but it’s still really neat feeling him move and kick. The little reminders that he’s doing ok!
Symptoms – I’m still pretty achy this pregnancy, but overall I’m feeling good. A little nausea came back this week, but I didn’t get sick which was good. To be honest, I forget I’m pregnant all the time. Our busy schedule and chasing after Magnolia keep me occupied.
Food Cravings – I’m still loving tea and pickled anything. This week I really started to crave sandwiches, so I might buy some Applegate deli meat for the week ahead.
Meals this Week – This week was a little hectic, so I was glad I prepared my lunches and breakfasts ahead of time! I packed each lunch (brown rice, veggies, and turkey meatballs) and roasted sweet potatoes for breakfasts. Each morning I would cook up a chicken sausage link with the sweet potato and then would scramble an egg with the mixture. Easy and delicious. Dinners were all over the place last week, but we ate what was in the house. Salads, leftovers, sandwiches, etc. Easy was the name of the game.
Sleep – I slept a lot better this week. My hands are still going numb from time to time, which stinks, but it’s just one of my symptoms. I’m still going to bed pretty early most nights, especially with my OrangeTheory workouts.
