September Goals Revisited

September was all about getting the academic year off to a good start!  Running an office of 3 by myself has been nothing short of exhausting, but I’m really proud of what was accomplished in September.  I worked an unreal amount of overtime last month, but I focused on my new goals for the academic year and did a pretty good job of staying focused on my well being.  Looking back on my goals for the academic year, I did a great job of taking a lunch break each day and enjoyed using my standing desk each day.  I also used my NOW Foods usb diffuser in the office every day, which was really nice.  I definitely felt better about my environment when using the “Clear the Air” oil blend and my students also noticed.

It was a hectic month, but I am proud of the steps I took to take care of myself despite how overwhelming work has been.  My days weren’t perfect and I didn’t always feel great, but looking back I really am proud of what I achieved this month.  I appreciated the support of my behavioral nutritionist, who encouraged me to step away from the scale during an abnormal time at work and to learn how to work through a stressful time while being kind to myself.  I didn’t do the best job of sharing what these past 6 weeks have been like here on Coffee Cake and Cardio, mainly because I couldn’t, but I am proud of how hard I worked and for being able to keep up with my family’s needs, chores around the house, my workouts, my sleep, and just my overall well being and self care when my time away from work was so limited.

I learned a lot about myself this past month and am happy to move into October.  I weighed in this morning and was relieved.  I am at peace with my weight and am happy moving into a new week on Weight Watchers and a new month.  It’s a fresh start and it’s birthday month!

Starting weight: 254 pounds
Last weigh-in on September 3: 244.8
Today’s weigh-in: 247.2
Total weight loss: -6.8 pounds
