It was so unbelievably hot here in the DC area this past weekend, but we had a really wonderful weekend. I’ve started including Fridays into my weekend recaps because Fridays are awesome! Friday morning I woke up early and headed to OrangeTheory. I got an awesome workout in, had a filling breakfast at home, and then headed into work for a few hours.
With my family in town, I left work a little before 1PM to spend some extra time with them. I picked up Magnolia from daycare and then enjoyed an afternoon at home. Around 4:30PM I hopped in the car and headed to the metro to meet Neal for the Nationals game.
Before heading into the stadium, Neal and I grabbed a beer at The Big Stick. It’s such a cute bar and we appreciated the AC!
Once inside the stadium we grabbed some cheese fries to share and I grabbed another beer. Neal and I hung out by ourselves for a bit and then met up with some co-workers. We didn’t stay the entire game, but we had an amazing time!! It was so nice going to a game by ourselves and were thankful for our babysitter (thank you, Alison!).
Saturday morning we met up with my parents at Ted’s Bulletin for breakfast. It’s my dad’s favorite breakfast spot and I loved spending time with my family. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which is oh so good!!
We spent the rest of the morning at home and then took a long nap while Magnolia napped. Around 2PM, Alison and I headed to Vichelle’s to get our hair done by the amazing Shelby Anderson. If you’re in the DC area, you have got to get your hair cut and/or colored by her! She’s amazing.
I got a “back to school trim” and Alison got some amazing color put in. Saturday night we hung out at home, enjoyed a delicious dinner (tortellini, chicken sausage, and salad), and watched the Olympics. Oh, and messed with Snapchat! I loved the beard filter last night!!
Sunday morning while Neal went out for a long run Alison and I played with Magnolia and cleaned the house. Once Neal was home the three of us headed to Target and Home Depot. I picked up laundry soap, contact solution, and some more Emerald dill pickle cashews (they are SOOO good).
During Magnolia’s nap I got a few things done around the house and then went grocery shopping for the week. I also made this delicious Mexican Cornbread Casserole for dinner, which I can’t wait to share with y’all tomorrow. It’s so filling and delicious! And so easy to make.
We closed out the weekend by watching Eddie the Eagle. It was such a cute movie and a great way to end the weekend. I’m starting out the week with an OrangeTheory workout and am eager tackle everything on my to do list. Here’s to a great week!
