My staycation has come to an end, but it was a really nice vacation. I’ll admit, it’s weird to truly vacation when you’re just at home…I mean, I wouldn’t consider doing laundry, organizing the basement, and shopping for bathroom vanities a vacation, but I’m glad I got a lot done last week and had some time away from my daily commute and workload. I shared most of what we did last week in Friday’s blog post and we had a really relaxing weekend to close out the week.
Friday morning, after dropping Magnolia off at daycare, Neal and I went to the movie theater to catch the 10:35 AM showing of Finding Dory. The theater had issues playing the film, so we ended up seeing The Secret Life of Pets for free and got a refund for the issues with Finding Dory. Win win! And these Pure Protein Crunch bites were the perfect movie theater snack! LOVE THEM!
After the movie, Neal and I ran a few errands and then headed home to have lunch. I had a salad with light blue cheese dressing and a side of pretzel thins and crazy feta dip (12sp). After lunch we tackled the basement and organized the main room. We have lots to donate, but I’m so glad the room is finally organized.
Before picking up Magnolia from daycare, Neal and I stopped by Home Depot to look at bathroom fixtures. We’re most likely moving out bathroom renovation to the fall, but we’re finalizing the layout and design now.
Friday night we went for a family walk and then had dinner. Magnolia loves to stop and look at every leaf when she’s out of her stroller, so walks take a little longer these days. I made an open-faced sandwich on a slice of Dave’s Killer Bread (4sp) and topped it with a Trader Joe’s veggie pizza burger (4sp) and a few slices of turkey pepperoni (2sp).
Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to Virginia. I met up with my darling friend Sara, who is moving to DC soon! It was so nice meeting up with her and going for a 3 mile walk on the W&OD Trail.
Afterwards we grabbed smoothies at SouthBlock. Magnolia and I shared the Warrior Bowl, which was yummy but ended up being a mess.
After getting back home we ended up making brunch. I made us all eggs, potato and spinach cakes, and then made Neal and Magnolia English muffins. After brunch we all took naps and then hung out the rest of the day. Neal headed to the DC Divas game and Magnolia and I stayed at home.
Yesterday morning I woke up early and went for a short run. I don’t know if it was being on the trail yesterday or what, but I woke up wanting to run. I walked for half a mile, ran my neighborhood loop (1.27 miles), and then walked another half a mile. It was a nice workout and made me excited for Army 10 Miler training.
For breakfast I had a piece of Dave’s Killer Bread, 3 turkey sausage links, 1 potato spinach cake, and 2 eggs (13sp total).
After breakfast we went for a long walk as a family and then played with Magnolia until her nap time. During Magnolia’s nap time I prepared veggies for the week ahead, folded tons of laundry, went through my bins of summer clothes, and made myself and Magnolia lunch. Like I said, it was a pretty chill weekend. Nothing special. We went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon, went on a few more walks, and played a ton. It was a great end to my staycation!
The week ahead is pretty jam packed, but I’m feeling good going into the week. I have my workouts planned out, my meals prepped, and have my work to do list and calendar organized. I’m working hard to see another loss on the scale this coming Friday and hope my hard work pays off. I’m getting closer to the 10 pound mark and am feeling good!
