I’ve had a wonderful week here at home and have enjoyed every ounce of my staycation! And I still have 3 more days until I’m back at work (yay!), but the past 6 days have been pretty awesome. After what ended up being a tough weekend, Magnolia recovered quickly from her spill and we all got back into our groove. Neal had to work on Tuesday and Thursday, but he was able to take Wednesday and today off.
Tuesday morning I went to spin at 9AM, ran a few errands, and then met Neal for lunch at a local sushi restaurant. We had a number of meals planned out for the week, so I made sure to plan ahead and to track everything to the best of my ability. I want to be successful when I eat out and that was one of my goals this week. We ordered a few rolls and had leftovers.
I took a nice nap Tuesday afternoon and got a lot done around the house before picking up Magnolia. We went for a long walk as a family and spent the rest of the night at home.
Wednesday morning, after I went to OrangeTheory, Neal and I dropped Magnolia off at daycare and then headed to the Chesapeake Bay. We called it our road trip to nowhere. We just drove to the Chesapeake Bay and then decided to stop in to North Beach, Maryland.
It was a cute LITTLE town, with a cute little boardwalk and beach. We walked around for a little bit and then jumped back in the car and headed towards Annapolis.
We made a few stops along the way… I mean, why wouldn’t you stop to take a picture of Magnolia Ave.?
Our plan was to drive over the Bay Bridge and to make our way over to St. Michaels, but when we saw the signs for Sandy Point State Park, we decided to change our plans. We stayed on the beach for an hour or so, soaked up a few rays and talked. It was really, really nice!
For lunch, we ate at Mike’s Crab House, which is one of my favorite places in Annapolis. It’s such a beautiful setting and the food is really yummy. I’m not a fan of the “all you can eat crabs”/hammer and mallet experience (it grosses me out), so I usually just order one of their sandwiches. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and a side of hush puppies. I ended up eating 4 hush puppies, a couple of fries, and my crab cake (didn’t end up eating the bun). It was really yummy!
Thursday morning after dropping off Magnolia, I came home and worked on the house. I tackled cleaning our bedroom and got a little done on my blog. Since it was Neal’s and my 4th wedding anniversary, for lunch, Neal and I grabbed lunch to go at Cava and then went to the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek, the site of our wedding reception. I loved our venue and I love being able to go back there any time we want (it’s a Montgomery County Park).
We enjoyed our picnic lunch, eating our Cava bowls, and talking about our 4 years of marriage. It was wonderful.
I spent the rest of the day cleaning. I dusted, vacuumed the entire house, cleaned the stove and counters, mopped the kitchen floors, and folded laundry. It felt great to have a super clean house again! Now if I can just tackle organizing the basement!
We closed out our Thursday with dinner at BGR and grabbed frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog. I had 3 bites of Neal’s burger and about 10 fries. I then shared my froyo with Magnolia (just frozen yogurt, no toppings). It was a sweet end to our anniversary and I loved being out with Magnolia.
This week I lost a pound, YAY, and I’m so proud of myself. We ate out a bunch, including twice the day before a weigh-in. I’m proud of myself for enjoying the week, for fitting our meals out into my Weight Watchers Points, for tracking everything, and for my workouts! I’m feeling good!
Friday – Long walk (6,982 steps)
Saturday – Long walk (11,858 steps)
Sunday – 60 minute spin (13,436 steps + spin)
Monday – OrangeTheory (11,416 steps)

Today Neal and I are enjoying a day off work together before moving into the weekend (we’re off to see Finding Dory in a bit). Here’s to soaking up the last bit of my staycation!
