I had an absolutely amazing time in Texas these past 4 days and am so excited to see Neal and Magnolia today. Professionally, I learned so much and it was refreshing. Dallas is also a fun town and I really enjoyed being here and having some time to relax at the end of the day.
With more conference events, I did have a hard time tracking Weight Watchers Points these past two days. I tried to apply the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years and feel good about how I’ve eaten these past few days.
Friday morning I woke up early and headed to the hotel gym. I did an OrangeTheory like workout, running sprint intervals on the treadmill and then lifting weights. It was a good workout and a great way to start the day.
Once cleaned up, I made breakfast in my hotel room from the food I had bought at Whole Foods the day before. I topped two thin puffs (1sp) with 2 tbsp of guacamole (2sp) and 2 slices of Applegate chicken breast (2sp). I also had 2 hard boiled eggs. It was a really filling a delicious breakfast!
For lunch on Friday I went to the Meddlesome Moth with some of my peers in the field and boy was it an amazing restaurant. I would classify it as eclectic American. I ordered the cool cucumber sandwich (“hippie bread”, lettuce, cucumber, sprouts, avocado, and a goat cheese spread), which was delicious!
Friday night I went to a reception and enjoyed a few appetizers on a small plate and two glasses of wine. I also had the small side salad I had bought at Whole Foods, some baby carrots, and an egg once I was back in my hotel room. Saturday morning I woke up early, went to the gym again, and then had breakfast in my hotel room. I also had a bottle of Kombucha with my avocado and chicken topped crackers.
Saturday was a pretty busy day, so I made sure to pack snacks for the day. Late morning, I had a banana and a pouch of the new Pure Protein Crunch. Let me tell y’all, these things are DELICIOUS!! They are the perfect chocolate snack and really yummy! They are 5sp and when I get home, I think I’m going to throw some on a bowl a HALO Top. Mmmm!!
Saturday’s lunch was at our awards reception. I had a chicken caesar wrap, side salad, a few potato chips, and a small piece of cake. I was pretty hungry and really enjoyed the luncheon. We moved into our final afternoon of sessions and then I attended the closing reception at 7:30PM. The drinks were flowing and I had a great time with friends. I work with some pretty amazing people! I closed out the day with a burger at Rodeo Goat, which was OMG amazing! I ordered the Royale with Cheese, no fries, and called it a night. It was so good!!
I’m excited to head home today and to have some time with my family before the work week starts. Until next time Texas!
