Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in the DC area! The sun was out, the humidity was low, and the wind was blowing. It was awesome! I started off the day with a 5AM OrangeTheory class. My legs were dead from Sunday’s workout, but I wanted to make sure I got 2 OrangeTheory workouts in before leaving for Dallas on Thursday. I took it pretty easy in the class, but felt so much better after working out (earned 15 FitPoints yesterday).
Once home, I showered, got dressed, made breakfast (2 eggs – 4sp, egg whites – 0sp, and turkey sausage – 3sp), got Magnolia ready for the day, and then headed to daycare.
Thankfully, with it being such a beautiful day in DC, I was able to spend most of the day outdoors at an annual golf outing. I had a wonderful time with my co-workers, but totally goofed on my use (or lack there of) of sunscreen. It was one of those days where it’s so nice out that you don’t even realize how much sun you’re getting. I definitely got too much sun and am borderline burnt, but hopefully it won’t look too bad as the days pass. I should have known better!
Since lunch was served at the golf outing, I planned ahead and stuck to my plan! I had one spoon of potato salad – 2sp, a bed of lettuce – 0sp, tomatoes – 0sp, 1 hamburger patty – 10sp, and a squirt of mustard and ketchup – 1sp. I stayed away from the rolls, cheese, and all the desserts!
After the golf outing I picked up Magnolia, arrived home to a house with no power (fail), hung out outside for a bit, and then settled in with Magnolia once the power turned back on. I made dinner early, as I was pretty hungry, and played with Magnolia for a bit (yay for Little People). For dinner I had homemade tuna salad (tuna – 2sp, light mayo – 1sp, sweet relish – 1sp, and seasonings), pretzel thins – 3sp, and 1 cup of ice cream – 15sp. I used all 42 of my SmartPoints for the day and ended the day feeling great. Looking back, I was really proud of myself for a few things…
-Getting up for OrangeTheory despite being super sore
-Turning down free donuts at daycare
-Not having any dessert at the golf outing (the cookies and brownies looked bomb!)
-Eating dinner early and then “closing” the kitchen for the night
Today I’m in a half day work event and am working late. I had a filling breakfast, ordered a yummy sandwich from Jetties for lunch, and packed my dinner to eat at work later today. Tomorrow is my Week 3 weigh in and I’m glad I was able to get back on track yesterday after my long weekend.
