It’s hard to believe, but 5 years ago I started Coffee Cake and Cardio.
5 years ago I was 26 years old, working as an academic advisor in DC, living in Alexandria, Virginia, dating Neal, and loving every second of my twenties. 5 years ago, with a lot of free time on my hands, I decided to start blogging as a hobby. After stumbling upon Beth’s Journey, I knew I wanted to share my own life and journey through blogging. I love being able to share my story and to connect with other women around the world.
I didn’t intend on Coffee Cake and Cardio being a weight loss blog at first, but I quickly realized that I enjoyed being able to share my experience, weight loss goals, and progress. I knew I wanted to be honest about the ups and downs and to help others know they were not alone.
Coffee Cake and Cardio has changed a lot over the year, as I’ve changed. In October 2011 I got engaged and began blogging about wedding planning. In 2012 I got married and started blogging about married life. In 2013 I started playing full contact football for the DC Divas and blogged about losing weight before pregnancy. In 2014 I found out I was pregnant and blogged about my pregnancy. In 2015 I shared my journey postpartum, life as a working mom, and new outlook on weight loss.
I am so thankful to have 5 years of memories and experiences here on Coffee Cake and Cardio. Thank you, to those who have read my blog at any point over the past 5 years. I know my blog has changed, as I’ve changed, and I am thankful to those who come back to see what I’ve shared and written.
Coffee Cake and Cardio continues to be a source of joy for me and I am thankful to still be able to write a few times a week. I look forward to sharing more this next year as I continue to live a happy, healthy, and balanced life.
