The past few days have been absolutely amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better week leading up to Christmas and I’m so thankful for our Christmas memories here in Maryland. After a 3 day work week, I was excited to have Christmas Eve off work to prepare for Christmas day. Neal headed to work early and I dropped Magnolia off at daycare for the morning. I took advantage of the alone time and baked cookies, listened to Christmas carols, watching Love Actually, and wrapped presents. It was awesome!
Thursday afternoon we went for a long walk when Neal got home, enjoyed taco pizza for dinner, attempted to attend our church’s Christmas Eve service (Magnolia had a meltdown), and welcomed Santa.
Christmas morning was quiet and magical. The weather here in the DC area has been freaky, so our version of a white Christmas was a dense fog filled morning. After opening our stockings I made cinnamon rolls (using this recipe) for the first time. Holy moly did they take forever to make, but they were delicious!
Our cinnamon roll breakfast turned into a cinnamon roll lunch, but it gave us plenty of time to open presents and to play with Magnolia before her morning nap. Magnolia got some Mega Blocks and the Little People Disney Princess Castle, which she’s obsessed with. It poured here yesterday afternoon and night, so we enjoyed a night in, watching Christmas movies and making dinner. I made a turkey, mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, and this AWESOME s’mores pie. It was delicious !
We had such an amazing week and we’re looking forward to the weekend ahead. I indulged a lot this past week, so I’m looking forward to getting back into my groove. I went to an OrangeTheory class this morning, went for a 3 mile walk with Neal and Magnolia, and had a health breakfast (protein shake, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of Dave’s Killer Bread). My sister arrives on Monday, YAY, so I have plenty of cleaning and organizing to do before then. It should be a fun weekend!
