Well, I’m home sick today. I honestly can’t tell y’all the last time I was this sick for this long. I was feeling so much better towards the end of last week, but started feeling sick again this weekend. I’m going into my third week of being sick and found out yesterday I have strep throat. I’m on antibiotics now and am really hopeful this will kick it. Last night was really rough and I’m just praying Neal and Magnolia don’t catch what I have.
My goals for this week are to get over being sick and to de-stress. I haven’t had an appetite at all the past 2 days. In the past 36 hours I’ve only had scrambled eggs, so I’m hoping to eat some soup today. I’m sure this medicine and sore throat are the culprit, but I’ve got to focus on fueling my body and healing.
I’ll be the first to admit that I pushed myself too far this weekend. We were out and about both days and I overdid it. I’m learning that I’ve got to make myself a priority.
Goals For Week 2
1. Get better!
2. Focus on fueling my body (smoothies, soups, salads, etc)
3. No sweets or Starbucks during the work week
4. Order our family Christmas cards
5. Finish my November Book of the Month
I went to Orange Theory on Friday and got 9,000+ steps on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I cancelled my Orange Theory classes for this week, but will schedule last minute if I’m feeling better. Usually as I start to feel better, workouts help to get the last bit of gunk out. We are scheduled to run a 5K on Saturday, so we’ll see if I’m able to do that.
Yesterday I went grocery stopping and bought some Boca Burgers, eggs, spinach, sliced roasted chicken, sandwich thins, and soup. I also bought ingredients to make potato soup, but I don’t think I’ll be making that until the weekend. Once I’m feeling better, I plan to have eggs for breakfast, soup and salad for lunch, and a veggie burger for dinner.
