Despite all the rain, this weekend was absolutely amazing! Our weekend started early as my dear friend Jenn was getting married Friday night at 6PM. I left work at 2:30PM, got ready at home, and then drove down to Georgetown.
Jenn’s wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was my first Jewish wedding and I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the traditions. After the ceremony we enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and then headed up to the reception. We ate, we drank, and we danced. It was amazing!
Neal and I enjoyed the night away from Magnolia, but we couldn’t wait to pick her up Saturday morning. After picking her up we ran errands, watched the Iowa football game (GREAT WIN!), cooked breakfast sandwiches for the week ahead, went shopping at the mall, enjoyed dinner at Bobby’s Burger Palace, and then watched more football until bed time.
Yesterday morning I woke up early and did a few things around the house, including setting up the Crockpot and cooking down some apples. At 10AM I headed down to Chevy Chase for brunch with Becky at Macon Bistro. I was really unimpressed with the service but the food was really great.
I ordered The Macon Benny, which was a biscuit topped with house made sausage, eggs, and a cream sauce. It was pretty good, but I don’t think I’d order it again. I will say from looking around, the waffles and the french toast looked amazing!
We had a really great weekend and I’m looking forward to the week ahead. This is a short work week for me, as I’m taking Thursday and next Monday off to spend time with Neal’s family. I have 2 Orange Theory workouts scheduled for early this week and hope to get out for a few runs. Here’s to a great week!
