On Saturday morning, after Magnolia’s nap, we headed over to the wineries in Purcellville, Virginia. I really love going to wineries in the fall, especially with my friend Becky! We went to a few wineries 2 years ago, so I couldn’t wait to go again this year. We packed a picnic lunch, loaded into the car, and then headed over to Breaux for our first stop.
The Breaux winery was absolutely beautiful! The landscape was amazing and I really loved their new tasting room. I didn’t love, love any of the wines, but I ordered a glass of Jennifer’s Jambalaya for lunch, which was yummy.
For lunch we enjoyed cheese, sausage, eggplant dip, crackers, and sliced apples with pumpkin fluff.
I couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy lunch and to play with Magnolia.
After lunch we headed over to Notavia winery, which pairs all of their wines with music instead of food. The wines were good, but it was hard for me to connect with the descriptions. Our favorite wine was their Blackberry wine. It was delicious and will be perfect for Thanksgiving dessert.
Next we headed over to the Two Twisted Posts winery, which was AWESOME!! They started in 2011, which was a really bad year for Virginia wine, but they came out with 5 award winning wines. I ended up buying 2 bottles. They were so good!
Last but not least, we headed over to Maggie Malick winery. They had a tasting flight that included TEN wines. They started the tasting with the sweet wines and then made their way to the dry wines. The blends were my favorite!
We had such an amazing time on Saturday! The weather was perfect, the wineries were beautiful, the wine was tasty, and the company was amazing. It was the perfect way to enjoy the fall day.
