Yesterday I attended the Wanderlust 108 festival in Washington, DC. It was an absolutely amazing event, from start to finish, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience with y’all.
After a fun morning at home with Magnolia, my friend Sarah and I headed down to RFK for the Wanderlust 108 festival. At first I was bummed the 5K didn’t start until 11AM, but it was actually amazing to arrive at 9:30AM and to have time to relax before the race kicked off.
Sarah and I walked around the Kula Market and made our way over to Kashi for a little pre-race snack. We both tried Kashi’s new Sweet Potato Sunshine cereal, which was amazing! I actually grabbed a box at Giant last night!
Before the 5K started we met with my friends Jennie, Juliann, and Jenny and hung out until the race started.
Sarah, Jennie, and I ran the race together, taking a few walk breaks towards the end of the race. It was so fun running together. It’s really amazing how quickly time goes by when you’re running with friends.
I forgot to stop by watch after the race, but I think we finished around the 36 minute mark.
After the race we headed back up to the market and grabbed a few snacks. I loved all the products they had on sight, especially Kashi, Siggi’s, and Bhakti Chai.
At 12:30PM our first yoga session began with MC Yogi & DJ Drez. It was probably one of the enjoyable yoga classes I’ve ever been a part of. It was full of life, love, and lots of energy. MC Yogi and DJ Drez did an amazing job bringing the crowd together as one and my body felt great afterwards.
A second yoga session and meditation session followed, but sadly I had to get back home before the festival ended. I snagged a cold press carrot juice on my way out, which was absolutely delicious!
My time at Wanderlust 108 was just amazing. I was worried I’d feel overwhelmed going into the work week if I spent the day at the festival, but Wanderlust 108 recharged by body and mind. Being around so many mindful men and women really got me thinking about my focus. I put a lot of energy into things that don’t refill my cup and I need to start fueling my mind more. I don’t practice yoga regularly, but boy do I love it! It always leaves me feeling on top of the world physically, mentally, and spiritually.
This manta really hit me yesterday. I truly believe that we are the most powerful when we push ourselves and inspire others. I am going to cling to this mantra and invite you to do the same. Set your intentions for the week and work to push yourself and to inspire others.
The Wanderlust 108 festival was really amazing and I’m so thankful I was able to attend. If you’re in Atlanta, Miami, Mexico, Nashville, and Houston, be on the look out! Wanderlust 108 is headed your way in October or November!
