I love, love, love working out in the fall. Love! This August has been such a tease and has me so excited for the fall weather. Whether I’m going out for an early morning run or going to a fitness studio after work, the fall is such a great time to layer up and to jump into a new fitness routine.
The transition from summer to fall is always interesting. One day it’s hot, humid, and 90 degrees and the next day it’s cool, crisp, and 78 degrees. It’s makes working out interesting, but there’s no sense waiting until October to get your workouts going.
This fall I’m going to be trying out a few new fitness studios/workouts, working out for free at home or through running groups, and will be training for a few races. We’re excited to run the Alexandria Turkey Trot again this year and to be a part of the Ugly Sweater Run. I have 3 other races I’m eyeballing, so we’ll see what else I sign up for.
Regardless of my workout, I have a pretty good list of fall workout gear essentials. I love fall sports attire and enjoy buying a few new things each fall. I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods are few weeks ago and although we were in the thick of summer, I had the fall in my mind.
- Capri workout tights (in a fun pattern of course)
- Full length workout tights
- Long workout tank tops for layering (I love this tank from CALIA)
- Lightweight workout jacket with thumb holes
- Your favorite college hoodie
- Cotton gloves for those cold mornings
My favorite outfit is hands down a pair of capri tights, a long workout tank, and a lightweight workout jacket. Honestly, I feel like I wear this exact outfit all fall when I’m not at work, regardless of whether or not I’m working out.
So I have two questions for y’all…
1. What workouts will you be doing this fall?
2. What are your fall workout gear essentials?
