Friday night Neal and I were invited to have dinner at the new Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill in Springfield, Virginia. Wood Ranch, which has 15 restaurants in California, opened its first location in the Washington, DC area last week. With a menu filled with made-from-scratch appetizers, entrees, and desserts, Neal and I couldn’t wait to visit their new location!
Wood Ranch is located in the new Springfield Town Center, which, if you haven’t visited, is worlds different than the Springfield Mall it used to be. We arrived around 7:30PM and waited about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn’t bad at all for a Friday night. The bar area at the front of the restaurant was lively and the cocktail menu looked amazing. Neal and I sat in a booth and decided to each order dinner and then a dessert to share.
For dinner I ordered a glass of wine, grilled salmon, baked beans, and quinoa salad. The salmon was absolutely delicious grilled and I can’t wait to try it blackened the next time we visit Wood Ranch. The sides were also really yummy! I loved that the quinoa salad had raisins in it.
Neal ordered the St. Louis ribs, which were amazing, and a side of loaded mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. For dessert Neal and I ordered the Key Lime Tart, which took us back to one of our favorite vacations in the Florida Keys. It was the perfect blend of sweet and tart and I loved the crust!
Neal and I had a wonderful time at Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill and can’t wait to go back! They are a family friendly restaurant and even serve toddler plates for small kids (Cheerios and orange slices). We both had a hard time choosing a meal because there were just so many amazing options! If you’re in the DC area or traveling here for business or pleasure, be sure to visit the new Wood Ranch in Springfield!
