Last night I cashed in on a Christmas present from this past year and went to the Bette Midler concert with Neal. This was our first time having a non-family babysitter for Magnolia and we were SOOOO grateful to have my friend Becky watch her.
After getting home from work, getting Magnolia settled, and catching up with Becky, Neal and I headed to the metro. It took us about 40 minutes to get down to Chinatown, but we had plenty of time to grab dinner beforehand. We didn’t really have a dinner plan, but when I saw Cava I think Neal knew it was a done deal. If you’re in the DC area and haven’t been to Cava yet, GOooooo!
The concert started 30 minutes late, but it was a really amazing show! Bette is quite the performer and I loved her renditions of older songs, seeing her perform as Winifred from Hocus Pocus, and singing some of her songs from Beaches at the top of my lungs. Side note – last night I learned that my husband has never seen Beaches or Hocus Pocus… mind blowing! Guess he knows what 2 movies we’ll be watching soon. Grab some tissues honey!
We had an absolutely amazing time at the concert, which lasted a little over 2 hours! I loved being able to go downtown on a school work night and to spend some time with my husband. Date nights are just the best!
