4 months postpartum. Holy moly! It’s funny because you hear people say that “it only gets better” and boy are they right. It is mind boggling to see how much our daughter has changed and to see her hitting these developmental milestones. I miss how little she was, but seeing her grow is utterly amazing. She is fully aware of our presence, will find us across the room when we call her name, and is holding her head up like a champ. She loves bath time, mommy’s horrific singing voice, and being rocked to sleep by her daddy. She’s adjusting well to full time daycare and is making friends with the other kids and their germs. All in all, month 4 was pretty awesome.
I’m also really proud of what I accomplished this past month. I “survived” the holidays, gaining just 2 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years. I also continued Weight Watchers and spin classes, added in 3 weight lifting sessions a week to my calendar, and began meal prepping. While the scale hasn’t moved much since October, my body is changing, my muscles are growing, and I’m feeling more and more like myself.
This next month my hope is to see more fat loss and more muscle growth. Sure I want to see the scale move, but it’s always nice seeing my booty return and my arms get stronger. I’m trying to focus on the big picture and the changes I’m making to my diet each week (hello meal prepping).
This photo shows you months 1, 2, 3, and 4 postpartum. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the human body is pretty amazing!
