Surprise! A Friday weigh-in update.
Before I get into the happenings of this past week though, I first have to thank y’all for your encouragement and support from yesterday’s post. It was refreshing and I’m excited to see where things are a year from now.
So earlier this week I decided to switch to a Weight Watchers at Work meeting instead of weighing in at my local Weight Watchers center on Saturday mornings. If I’m being honest, I had zero connection with the Saturday leader I switched to after my maternity leave and was getting to a point were I weighed in and left. I truly believe that the leader (and the other employees) can really make or break your experience at Weight Watchers. Last Saturday broke the camels back when the person who weighed me in talked to the other administrator the whole time I was weighing in. It’s something so small but I was looking forward to being able to talk to her about my week and when she didn’t give me the time of day, I knew I had to find a new meeting or switch to WW Online. No sense in paying for meetings if you aren’t going to attend.
The Weight Watchers at Work meetings are actually really cool. I like that I’ll be attending meetings with others at work and weighing in every Thursday at lunch. My weekends haven’t been bad by any means, but I definitely feel like I take Monday – Friday more seriously that Saturday and Sunday when I weigh-in on Saturday mornings. By switching to Thursday weigh-ins I know I’ll pay closer attention to what I’m eating on weekends. All in all, I think it’ll be a great move!
So this past week has been really good! I weighed in on Saturday at 249 pounds and then enjoyed a 3 day weekend, including 3 meals out! We went to lunch at Dogfish Head Alehouse on Saturday, lunch at Cava on Sunday, and then had dinner at Uncle Julio’s on Monday. It was so great spending time with friends and I tried my hardest to make wise choices while eating out. I didn’t track any of my meals out, which is something I want figure out for next time, but I felt good about my choices.
This week was my third week preparing all of my meals for the work week on the weekend and I’m still really enjoying it! Meal prepping is working really well for me, both as I work to lose weight and as a new working mom. I tend not to get bored with my week day meals as long as I change it up each week.
My workouts this week were pretty good. I went to spin on Saturday and Monday and then lifted weights at 5AM on Tuesday and Thursday. Next week I’m going to shift back to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule, which seem to work out well.
This week I gained 0.6 pounds, weighing in at 249.6 pounds, but I fully attribute that to switching from 8AM weigh-ins with nothing in my systems to 1PM weigh-ins after both breakfast and snacks. This week’s weigh-in is essentially a new start and marker, so I’m excited to see how I do this next week after comparing Thursday to Thursday.
All in all I’m feeling really great. I even treated myself to some new Athleta gear for my workouts. I am eager to get out of the 240’s, since I’ve been sitting around 250 for a few months now, but I do feel like I’m making progress. Just ready to continue to see losses and to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
