Early yesterday morning Neal, Magnolia, and I headed to Annapolis, Maryland for the Annapolis Half Marathon.
It was SUPER cold yesterday morning, but I really loved being able to support Neal as he ran his second half marathon.
Magnolia and I hung out with Neal until the race started and then we made our way back to the car to hang out while Neal ran.
Neal did an absolutely amazing job yesterday! Neal finished the race in 2:02:22, which was amazing! He was really hoping to get below 2 hours but Annapolis was HILLLLLLLY!
After the half marathon we had breakfast at Chick and Ruth’s in Annapolis and then headed home to rest and relax before heading to our second race of the day, the Run Under The Lights 5K in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
As I hadn’t trained for this race, we just took it easy. I ran when I could and walked briskly the rest of the time.
We finished the 5K in 49:01 and enjoyed a big bowl of chili at the finish line. It was such a fun race!
Although Magnolia is only 10 weeks old, exercising as a family is something that’s really important to Neal and I. Running was never something I enjoyed as a kid and we really hope to be able to pass along the joys of running to our children. Doing races such as these makes running fun for everyone!
I’m super proud of Neal’s accomplishments yesterday and am glad I didn’t limit myself during the 5K run! It feels great to be back!
