The first week of weight loss is always an exciting week. You’re motivated, have a plan, and are determined to see a big loss on the scale. I’ve always loved the first weigh-in and how it catapults you into week 2. My first week was far from textbook. I was definitely motivated, but it’s so easy to get lost in the day with a newborn and when you have visitors.
Going into this past week I had two goals. One was to measure everything I ate and second was to always eat off of a plate or out of a bowl. It’s far too easy for me these days to just grab and go without really thinking. Measuring what I’m eating and eating off of a plate make a huge difference for me. I did a fairly good job of meeting these goals but there were plenty of times I fell sort. It’s definitely something I want to keep working on. My biggest struggle this week was eating peanut butter for sure! It’s just way too easy for me to eat it without measuring.
This week we also ate out a lot. With guests in town and my birthday on Thursday we ended up eating out a few times. Not a normal week by any means but we had a lot of fun. Hello first beer postpartum!
This week I lost 0.4 pounds! I was really happy with my loss considering how much I ate out. I also had a huge no scale victory this week, taking two spin classes my first week back postpartum.
Was it a textbook week 1? Nope! But it was a great start and a really fun week with family and friends. Now I’m onto week 2!
