October always use to be my favorite month of the year, but I have a feeling September is quickly going to become my favorite! Waking up this morning it was excited knowing that it’s officially birth month! September arriving brought with it some peace of mind. Although I have no idea when the baby will arrive, it’s comforting to know that the month ahead will hold her birth day.
On top of our daughter arriving and all that comes with that, I’m really looking forward to cooler days, being home with Neal, spending time with my mom, watching lots of football, and transitioning to a new season of life. It’s going to be an exciting month!
In August I…
Took my final spin class
Coming Up In September (I hope to)…
Go into labor
Announce the arrival of our daughter
Go on maternity leave and not think about work
Watch lots of football and try out some new soup recipes
Finish watching LOST (started this past winter but went on a summer sabbatical)
Around the House
Keep the house clean, relying on others’ help after the baby arrives
Buy a couple of mums to go in our front yard
Clean up our potted garden as we transition to fall
For the Baby
Finish the nursery (we’re actually doing this today, yay)
Do what I can to provide and protect her
Health and Fitness
My only goal is to listen to my body! It is going to be quite a transition, resting so my body can heal and adjusting to breastfeeding. I want to listen to my hunger signals, eating when and what my body needs, and to be patient as I ease out of fitness and into recovery. I do hope to go for walks this month, both before delivery and after, but always listening to what my body needs.
Sleep when the baby is sleeping
Get outside when I can to ward off cabin fever
Take relaxing showers and a few extra minutes to blow dry my hair
Buy myself something from Athleta after the baby arrives
