Good morning!!
There’s not much better than waking up from restful sleep, seeing the sun beaming through the windows, and seeing your beautiful daughter beside you. As tired as I am, I’ve never been happier! God is good.
After a 48 hour stay in the hospital, Neal, Maggie, and I returned home yesterday morning. Having not left a hospital room since 12:30PM Sunday, it was a little overwhelming walking Maggie into the real world for the first time. I’ve never been so protective of anything or anyone in my life. It’s a very overwhelming emotion, but a beautiful one!
Arriving home was really special as it was Theodore’s first time meeting Magnolia. Neal and I had no idea how he’d respond and I have to tell y’all, he has been the sweetest puppy in the world. When we first got home Theodore was just excited to see Neal and me. It actually took him a while to realize we had Maggie with us. Once he realized she was there we let him sniff her and adjust to her presence. Theodore was so sweet and has been so calm since. My 2-year-old puppy became a dog overnight!
It has been really nice being home these past 24 hours. We’re all just adjusting to this new lifestyle and routine.
Sleeping when the baby sleeps is really difficult, but Neal and I are both working hard to take care of each other so that we’re rested for Maggie.
Maggie has been amazing, which I’m sure every new mom says about their baby. She’s eating well (we’re breastfeeding), sleeping soundly, and learning to digest (hello cutest farts in the world).
All in all, we’re doing really well and just enjoying this time with our newborn. It is such a special time!
