The past 3 days have been a true blessing! I knew having my mom and sister in town for a week would be exactly what my heart needed, but I had no idea what these past few days were going to hold.
It all started Thursday when I heard our daughter’s strong heartbeat at my 31 week doctor’s appointment. Everything is still looking and sounding great, which gives me so much peace of mind! Afterwards my mom, sister, and I ran down to South Block Cafe for breakfast and then headed out to the Leesburg Outlets to pick up a few things from Williams-Sonoma.
Once home we worked on the nursery for a bit and then I headed to spin for a much needed workout!! It felt so great to break a sweat and to get a good workout in.
After spin, Neal and I made salads for dinner and then waited up for my mom and sister to return from my friend Becky’s house (where my baby shower was on Saturday). Little did I know, my mom and sister were actually picking up my best friend Stephanie from the airport! I didn’t think Stephanie was able to come to the shower, so to see her walk into my home Thursday night brought about a tear fest!!
Stephanie is an absolute blessing in my life and to have her here this weekend was more than I could have asked for. I am just so grateful to have her here!! (These are photos from her last visit in 2012)
Friday morning I got up early, despite going to sleep around 2AM, and made a healthy breakfast using my new Prep Pad by The Orange Chef Company. I am currently reviewing it for FitFluential and can not wait to share it with y’all. I’m officially obsessed with this smart scale!
After breakfast I worked on a few things around the house and continued to work on the baby’s nursery! The room is definitely starting to come together and I am absolutely loving the curtains (actually a shower curtain) and lamp from Crate and Barrel. I can’t wait to see the finished room!
Yesterday I woke up bright and early thanks to Theodore and enjoyed a big cup of coffee with some of my mom’s homemade biscotti. I love enjoying these quiet moments. This month I’ve been working harder to mediate and to reflect on my days, so I really treasure these “me time” moments.
The rest of the day was spent celebrating our daughter at our baby shower! My mom, sister, and Becky threw Neal and I the most adorable shower and it was so great celebrating with dear friends.
The shower was an English tea theme, which I loved as my Dad was born and raised in England before moving to the US.
Building off the theme, my mom made the most amazing breads, scones, and biscotti and Becky made some killer breakfast casseroles! It was the perfect Saturday morning brunch and celebration with friends.
It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to everyone on Monday, but I’ve been so blessed to have family and friends in town these past few days. It was more than I could have every asked for!
