The Bump –
Movement – She’s still super mellow! It’s funny talking to friends who are pregnant and hearing just how active their babies are. Our little girl is pretty chill 90% of the day, poking me here and there as she moves around. I can’t wait to see how this translate to her personality outside of the womb.
Baby Prep – Last week the baby’s crib arrived and I found some adorable storage bins at HomeGoods! Things are coming together slowly but surely! This week my goal is to find a pediatrician and to prep for our first birth class on Saturday.
Maternity clothes – Some of my clothes are starting to get tight, eek, so I’m worried I’ll need to get a few things in July to get me to the end of my pregnancy. I really don’t want to get more clothes, but I also want to be comfortable. I’ll at least need to find an outfit for our maternity photo shoot with Stefanie Harrington.
Food cravings – Juice and smoothies all. day. long! Last week I enjoyed Suja juice from Whole Foods, Jamba Juice, and a few homemade smoothies! It’s a pretty fun craving to have, especially in the summer!
Workouts – I felt great last week and got some really good workouts in.
- Monday – Weight lifting
- Tuesday – 60 minute spin class
- Wednesday – Weight lifting
- Thursday – Rest
- Friday – Rest
- Saturday – 5K run/walk
- Sunday – Hike with my boys
Sleep – I slept really well last week overall.
Symptoms – I’ve started to get what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions, but who knows. Having never felt contractions, I’m just guessing. My lower abdomen will get rock hard, maybe once or twice a day, for a few seconds and then let up. It’s odd but I’m not in pain and the doctor said it’s all normal. Heartburn has been wicked bad lately, but the baby is sitting incredibly high, so I’m not surprised.
Doctors Appointments – I have my next appointment today! I have a feeling this appointment will again consist of hearing the baby’s heartbeat (yay!), shaking the doctor’s hand, and paying my co-pay. I know I should be grateful that my appointments aren’t more intense because of complications, but paying $40 every appointment for essentially a handshake is frustrating. **end rant**
Thoughts and feelings – The weeks have really started to speed up but I think it’s because I’m just so eager for July to roll around! My mom and sister are visiting in two weeks and it can not come soon enough. Not having my parents and siblings here in the area has been tough, so I can’t wait to spend one-on-one time with my mom and sister in July. We have a pretty hefty to do list growing, but my mom and sister are absolute rock stars so I know we’ll get it all done!
Pregnancy wise I’m feeling pretty great. Some days I feel really “light” and healthy and other days I feel like I’m huge. Where the baby is sitting really does make a different in how I’m feeling, but there isn’t much I can do about that. My diet was ok last week but I ate too much over the weekend to be honest. It’s tough ending the week feeling blah body wise when it really was a good week. All I can do is make good decisions moving forward and hope to feel better in my body within a day or two.
This Saturday we have our first birth class, which I’m a little nervous about. It takes me back to the 4th grade when we had to menstrual cycle presentation. I know what we’re going to cover and yet I know nothing about the subject. I’ve kinda enjoyed going into all this blind and it’s a little scary to think of what we’re about to learn. I think Neal’s about to have the crap scared out of him, but better now than in the hospital. Man! Things just got real!
This is my 30th week, woop woop, and really look forward to closing out the month of June! Here we go…
