After months of shopping for a gas grill, Neal and I decided to spend a little less money and to go with a Weber charcoal grill. While we won’t grill as often with a charcoal grill, we’re both really excited to finally have a grill and to be able to spend more time outside this summer.
On Sunday after I returned from Orlando Neal put the grill together and we officially kicked off grilling season!
For dinner I decided to grill zucchini, summer squash, and bison burgers. I seasoned the bison patties with salt, pepper, and Williams Sonoma hamburger seasoning and coated the squash in olive oil and Trader Joe’s season all.
Since we were already grilling, I went ahead and grilled all 4 burgers as well as 4 chicken sausages for dinners this week.
The squash was absolutely perfect! There just something magical that happens to vegetables when you grill them, similarly to roasting them. They become so sweet, while picking up a little of the smoke from the grill. Long story short, grill some vegetables this summer!
Neal and I are just so excited about the summer ahead! Our backyard has really come together and I know we’ll really enjoy the space no matter how hot it gets here in DC. I have plenty of grilling ideas, including stuffed jalapenos, fajitas, roasted corn, grilled pizza, so here’s to many delicious meals on our grill this summer!
