It’s funny how this weekend turned out, but Saturday ended up being a Neal day while Sunday became a me day. We both had a gazillion things we needed to get done, so it was fun focusing on Neal’s things on Saturday and my things on Sunday.
Neal and I kicked off our Saturday with a trip to Tyson’s Corner Mall. Our mission was to get Neal an iPhone (yay), a haircut, and to shop for some new work clothes for him at Macy’s. Neal never asks for new clothes so it’s always fun when he wants to go shopping for new things. The iPhone was a long time coming and I’m super excited for him! I personally love my iPhone and think he’ll really enjoy having one!
After shopping at Tyson’s we headed over to the Mosaic shopping center in Fairfax, VA to hit up the New Balance store!
Neal and I will both be running the Fit Foodie 5K next weekend so we wanted to buy some new shoes for the summer. As an ambassador, New Balance provided me with a free pair of shoes and then we bought Neal his own pair! We’re both really looking forward to the race next weekend and I really hope local readers will join us! Remember to use COFFEECAKECARDIO at checkout for a discount when you register!
After shopping for shoes, Neal and I headed over to Rays to the Third in Rosslyn for a late lunch. Neal and I love burgers, so we’re on an unofficial quest to find the best burgers in the Washington, DC area. While the shakes were awesome, the burgers at Rays to the Third were just ok. I honestly don’t know what all the ruckus is about. Holy Cow in Del Ray is still our favorite burger place, hands down!
After lunch we stopped by Pacers to find Neal a new water bottle for his shorter runs and some Swiftwick socks. Then we were back to Maryland for an evening at home, filled with naps for Neal and lots of baseball!
I kicked off my Sunday with a 60 minute spin class at The Pedal Studio. The class was awesome and even though I had to back off a little towards the end, I got a great workout in!
After spin class I headed over to the Olney farmers markets for a Zeke’s iced coffee and some fresh produce and then stopped by Giant to finish up our weekly grocery shopping.
While this may not sound fun at all, the rest of the day was spent cleaning and organizing the house. Neal helped out a ton around the house, building the baby’s dresser and cleaning the showers for me while I organized the kitchen, folded laundry, and prepared a few meals for the week ahead (awesome brisket taco recipe coming to y’all this week). It was a super productive day, which was exactly what I wanted!
I can’t say I’m all that excited it’s Monday, but I’m really grateful for the weekend Neal and I had! Our weekends before the baby arrives are numbered, so I’m really treasuring this time with Neal. Life is going to be quite different after our baby girl arrives!
