I don’t know about y’all, but I’m not a huge fan of working out outside during the hot summer months. I’m more of a spring, fall, and most of winter kind of girl but I know I can’t just take 3-4 months off until the temperatures cool down. The moment the humidity arrives, the last thing I want to do is to go for a run outside so I’ve had to find other ways to enjoy summer workouts. Here are 8 ways to enjoy your summer workouts!
Wake up early! Go for a walk or run as the sunrises.
Run in the rain! There’s something incredibly refreshing about running in the rain and I’ve learned to love it. Just let go, allow yourself to get soaked, and enjoy a cool run in the summer rain.
Do a Tabata! This is a great way to get a high intensity workout in in a short amount of time. Yes you may be out in the heat for 20 minutes, but then you’re done!

Take a spin class! or any indoor gym class! This is great way to break a sweat in an air conditioned building.
Start a weightlifting program! The summer is a great time to hit the weights. Enjoy the time indoors on those hot days and pump some iron.
Find an at home workout program! Whether it’s Turbo Fire, Body Revolution, or a Yoga DVD, there are so many great workout programs you can do from the comfort of your home.
Find a trail! While it might be hot outside, a tree lined trail is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors while staying out of the sun.
And last but not least, enjoy yourself! Enjoy the summer, no matter how hot it is. It’s a great time of year and can hold some of your favorite workouts.
