I am incredibly excited to announce that I have been asked to be an Ambassador for The Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend in Fairfax, VA June 20-22, 2014! I thought it was too good to be true when I heard that Cooking Light and Health are coming together to create a Fit Foodie weekend for the DC area… but it’s true!
“The concept of the Fit Foodie was born out of the idea that a healthy lifestyle and delicious culinary experiences don’t have to be separate” and I couldn’t agree more. Being able to come together for a weekend of food, fun, and fitness is the definition of a healthy lifestyle and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of this three day event.
The weekend is filled with cooking demonstrations, food tastings, fitness classes, and of course, the 5K race! Whether you want to make it a “Fit Foodie Weekend” and attend all of the events or just attend the 5K race and Celebrity Chef Lunch, it’s all up to you! Here’s a list of all of the weekend’s events…
Gypsy Soul Celebrity Chef VIP Party – “Mix and mingle with celeb chef RJ Cooper, Editors from Cooking Light & Health, and your fellow Fit Foodies, who will be there to help you get energized for the big day and have a little Friday night fun.” (Friday 6:30PM-9:00PM)
Fit Foodie 5K and post race foodie celebration – “he ultimate celebration of food, fitness and fun.” (Saturday 8:30AM-12:00PM)
Celebrity Sunrise Yoga and Brunch – “Awaken your mind and body during a sunrise yoga session, led by celebrity trainer Kristin McGee. After your revitalizing yoga session, join your fellow yogis for a delicious (and nutritious) brunch, featuring keynote addresses by celebrity fitness trainers.” (Sunday 9:00AM-12:30PM)
Power Systems Obstacle Course and Brunch – “One incredible workout presented by Power Systems and celebrity trainer, Patrick Goudeau. The Obstacle Course Bootcamp is one BIG playground that combines strength and cardio intervals in a learn-to-use-what-you’ve-got body weight workout!” (Sunday 9:00AM-12:30PM)
So who would like to join me for this fun foodie and fitness filled weekend?? You can sign up for each event individually or “Make it a Weekend” with me! It’s a wonderful opportunity to burn calories, enjoy great food, and to mingle with fit foodies from around the DC area… OH and pregnant ladies are MORE than welcome!! Come join me and my 29 week pregnant self! The cherry on top is that 10% of all race entries will benefit City of Hope, a treatment and research center for cancer, diabetes, and other diseases!
