Gender – It’s a girl! I still can’t believe it, but it’ll soak in I’m sure.
Movement – None that I can feel. I’m honestly a little sad that I haven’t felt anything yet. I know she’ll be kicking me so much it hurts soon, but I’m just ready to be aware that there’s a baby in that
Maternity clothes – I just bought a few more things from Old Navy online. I have been looking for cotton skirts and capris to get me through the summer and am hoping the ones I bought will work.
Food cravings – This was the first week where I had a legit random craving. I really, really wanted a strawberry limeade from Sonic, which we don’t have here in the DC area, and I legitimacy considered driving the hour to get one… that’s insane! Sure I could make one at home, but it’s not the same. Otherwise my cravings are the same, cheese, bagels, pickles, and lemons.
Workouts – Workouts have been great. I do miss breaking an awesome sweat without losing my breath, but I’m still enjoying my workouts. I’ve been getting to the gym before work, which is awesome, and I’m eager to get back into spin regularly.
Sleep – The past couple of nights I’ve felt a little uncomfortable, but I’m still getting 7 1/2 – 9 hours of sleep a night. Getting up to pee in the middle of the night is annoying, but I get up and get back to sleep quickly.
Missing anything – Playing football. I really miss it. I miss my teammates, I miss the workouts, and I miss hitting people. Just keeping it real.
Thoughts and feelings – Last week was a really exciting week! I loved going to our anatomy scan, telling people that we’re having a girl, and starting to plan for her arrival. It’s a little overwhelming to think of all we need to do these next few months, but my mom continues to remind me that all the baby really needs at first is food, diapers, a few clothes, and lots of love… the baby will be just fine!
I am extremely about decorating the nursery. I don’t talk about it much here, but I really love decorating!! I’m not a bed in a bag kind of gal, so I like putting rooms together piece by piece. I have a few ideas, so we’ll see how it comes together. I’ll be sure to share updates here on Coffee Cake and Cardio!
Health wise, I think I’m doing really well. I’m feeling a little insecure about my weight gain thanks to the last OBGYN I saw, but what can I do. I’m working out and trying to control my food intake. I know I could stand to watch my sugar intake a bit more, so I may have to work on that moving forward. Otherwise, I feel like I’m gaining what the baby must be needing. I don’t think my eating is that far off from how I ate before baby, but who knows. I’m learning that the body knows what it’s doing and I just have to do my part.
Looking forward to – That’s a good question. Maybe I’m in a funk. I’m just ready to feel the baby.
