but I do mean Dallas! Bonus points if you know that song…
Well, this southern girl is back in Texas for a week and I couldn’t be happier! On Wednesday I flew from DC to Dallas to meet up with my sister Alison. Alison attends UNT, so I figured it’d be fun to check out the school and her digs before heading home to San Antonio.
While on my first flight to Birmingham, I read up to Week 14 in the “One Year to an Organized Life with Baby” book, which I am obsessed with!! This is my kind of pregnancy book!!
After flying into Love Field, Alison and I drove (in a pickup truck of course) to Denton. My baby belly was SUPER angry with me for deciding to wait on dinner until I arrived in Texas. Lesson learned, don’t wait until after your evening flight to eat when you’re pregnant. Once in Denton Alison and I grabbed dinner at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, a new to me taco place. I ordered the vegetable burrito smothered in queso, which was really awesome!
Thursday morning Alison and I woke up early to make breakfast before she headed to a midterm exam. Even though I have just about the same foods at my home in DC, there’s just something fun about eating at someone else’s home.
I made us scrambled eggs with sautéed mushrooms and a small yogurt and berry parfait. Both totally hit the spot!
By lunchtime we were off to tackle the 4.5 hour drive to San Antonio.
This week in Texas is going to be an absolute blast! Not only am I in San Antonio to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday, but all of my siblings are in town. I love my siblings to death and am so grateful to be able to spend a week with them! I’m sure we’ll get into plenty of trouble these next few days and I look forward to sharing it with y’all.
Happy Friday!!
