One of the main reasons I came to Texas this past week was to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday! Stephanie and I first met during the 4th grade but didn’t become close friends until I moved back to San Antonio in the 10th grade. Stephanie, who has battled Cystic Fibrosis her entire life, is an absolutely amazing woman and friend. Her 30th birthday is truly a celebration of her life and the battle her and her family have fought for 30 years now.
Yesterday afternoon my sister and I headed over to the dance hall to help everyone decorate for the party. Stephanie had a fiesta themed party, which was absolutely adorable! It definitely made me miss being in San Antonio for Fiesta!
After decorating, Alison and I grabbed lunch at Taco Cabana (chicken fajita quesadilla with pico for the win) and then got ready for the party at home.
Stephanie’s party was an absolute blast!! The decorations were absolutely adorable and people definitely came to party!
We had BBQ for dinner and then these amazing popsicles for dessert! The Orchata bar was by far our favorite as it NO JOKE tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Being with my siblings, parents, and all of Stephanie’s friends and family was an absolute blast!! Though we’re all at different places in our lives, it’s really great to be able to spend one-on-one time with the people I love. It always makes me miss living in Texas, but I’m grateful for what Neal and I have going on in DC. It’s just where we’re meant to be!
I’m soaking up my time here in Texas but am also looking forward to getting back home to my boys!
