Have you ever had one of those days where your day and diet just don’t go as planned? You wake up late, throw your hair in a ponytail, and run out the door with nothing but coffee in your stomach. Already you’ve kicked off your day feeling gross and hungry! As you weren’t able to pack a lunch, you spend your lunch break mulling over where to grab lunch. Do you order a burger, a sandwich, a salad? You’re so hungry that nothing really sounds good. You order a sandwich and move on with your day.
By the time you get home you’re just so ready for the day to end. You give in and order take out, as you have no desire to cook. You end your day feeling discouraged, but then you realize, tomorrow is a new day and every meal is a clean slate! We all have those days, days when things just don’t turn out as planned. Whether we want to accept it or not, the reality is that we hold the power to start over, to clean our slate, and to not be so hard on ourselves!
Last month I was introduced to the Clean Slate Project by Weight Watchers® Smart Ones®, which encourages us to view every meal as a clean slate and a fresh start! I loved everything about the project and was really excited when I was asked to spread the message over the next few months.
I am incredibly guilty of being too hard on myself and throwing in the towel on an entire day just because of one meal. I get discouraged, I feel like I’ve wrecked my plan, and I don’t always move on. Being able to view each meal as a clean slate not only helps me to move on from meals that weren’t as planned, but it also helps me to be successful in reaching my goals. Sometimes I look too far in the future and forget that each meal and each day add up to what my future will be.
What if you could wipe the slate clean and move on?
