I’ll be honest, I am emotionally and physically exhausted from our move this past weekend. Though I loved having a super long weekend thanks to two snow days on Thursday and Friday, it was a little too long of a weekend due to the move.
Friday morning Neal and I headed over to our new home and were welcomed by a 4 foot pile of snow…
I had a feeling our neighbors would use our two parking spots to dispose of their snow, but it was quite exhausting having to remove it all. It took us a little over two hours to remove the snow, but it was a great workout! Neal and I cranked it out!
Saturday morning Neal and I drove over to Arlington, VA to grab breakfast at Bayou Bakery with Neal’s Dad while Theodore got his hair cut.
Bayou Bakery is one of our favorite breakfast spots in Arlington, so we thought it’d be a fun place to take Neal’s Dad while he was in town.
We each ordered a breakfast sandwich (egg, cheddar, and turkey sausage for me) and then an order of beignets to share.
Though we hoped to get most of our move done on Saturday, the weather kept us from being able to move furniture. We spent Saturday packing boxes, watching the Olympics, and preparing for the big move on Sunday.
Yesterday we literally moved all day. We got up around 7:30AM and got right to it after breakfast (bagel thins and coffee). Neal and his dad tackled moving the furniture while I moved the kitchen, closets, and other odds and ends. It felt like it took forever, but we finished almost 12 hours later and were happy to be home!
We ordered pizza for dinner, watched the Olympics, and hit the hay by 10:30PM. Thankfully we are just about done with our move and are extremely eager to get the house put together after our guests leave. I’m really looking forward to making this place a home and sharing it here on Coffee Cake and Cardio.
