I feel like I can’t say it enough, but thank y’all so much for the kind words about our pregnancy. We’re incredibly excited to be expecting and I look forward to sharing things with y’all along the way!
This was a really enjoyable weekend! The weather was amazing, I was out of the house a bunch, and I got to spend some quality time with friends and loved ones. I kicked off the weekend at Revolve Cycle Studio in Arlington, VA with my dear friend Kate. We took the 60 minute body ride class, which included two 5 minute upper body weight lifting segments. It was a great workout and an awesome way to start the day.
After class Kate and I head over to, you guessed it, South Block Cafe!! I’m OBSESSED with this place and really wish there was one by my work.
For breakfast I ordered the Breakfast wrap and the Cold Fighter smoothie. Both were delicious!!
Saturday night I headed over to my friend Becky’s house for girl talk and dinner. Becky made an amazing dinner, which I am definitely going to copy. She baked sweet potatoes and then topped them with ground turkey, salsa, and Greek yogurt. It was awesome and so filling!
I kicked off Sunday morning with another spin class, but this time at The Pedal Studio.
Afterwards I headed to Whole Foods for some produce and protein, stopped by Target for a new Brita water filter, and got my car washed. The rest of the afternoon was spent unpacking boxes and napping!! Have I told y’all yet how much I’m loving sleep? I don’t even fight it anymore!! Naps are THE BEST!
For dinner, I made Tequila Lime Jalapeno Salmon burgers, yellow rice, and broccoli.
The salmon burgers were from Whole Foods and everything I hoped they would be. I cooked them in a little olive oil and served them on a potato roll with a little homemade jalapeno tartar sauce (mayo, ketchup, and diced pickled jalapenos).
It was fun combining things from my pantry (the rice and broccoli) and new finds from Whole Foods (salmon burgers and potato rolls).
I am really, really hoping for a good week ahead! Last week was a really bad week, with a happy ending, and I’m just praying this week is better. I’m kicking off the week at the gym this morning and am going to do whatever I can to have a great week.
What was the highlight of your weekend?
