Today marks the start of an incredibly busy 5 weeks. February is an incredibly crazy month for me, so I really enjoyed my last weekend before the whirlwind.
Friday I took full advantage of the day off, cleaning the apartment, walking Theodore, running errands, taking a nap, and going to dinner with a friend in Bethesda. Saturday I enjoyed another long walk with Neal and Theodore, the Iowa basketball game, more errands, and an evening glued to season 4 of Lost. Seriously, I can not get through this show fast enough. I like it, but I feel like my brain is going to explode. 3 seasons down, 3 to go!
Yesterday morning I woke up around 6:30AM and got ready for my 8AM spin class. As it’s a bit of a drive (and people are a little territorial with their bikes), I almost always get to class super early. Well yesterday was the wrong day to start spinning 30 minutes before class started. Little did I know it was going to be an extra long class! Almost two hours later, I was SPENT!
After a hot shower, awesome lunch, and another episode of Lost, Neal and I headed downtown for the Washington DC Auto Show.
I used to go to auto shows with my dad as a kid, but I have to admit that this was my first one as an adult… and it was awesome!! For anyone thinking about getting a new car, it’s a great way to see a variety of cars without having to go to a car dealership.
We also got to see a few prototypes, which was really amazing. I really do wonder what the world will look like in 30 years.
After looking at all of the cars, Neal and I headed over to our favorite BBQ place in the DC area, Hill Country BBQ. Hill Country BBQ catered our wedding, which was amazing, so we love going back! Neal and I ordered our favorites: Beef brisket, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, cucumber salad, and corn bread. It was all just divine!
It was a fast and furious weekend, but I really enjoyed the down time. Here’s to a crazy, crazy month ahead!
