First off, thank y’all so much for all of the birthday wishes! I had an absolutely wonderful day and appreciate all of the kind notes here on Coffee Cake and Cardio, as well as on twitter, Instagram, and Facebook! Thank y’all!
I started my birthday with an awesome weight lifting session at the gym! I can’t think of a better way to start one’s birthday as it is a time to focus on yourself, your health, and your goals.
When I got back to my apartment, Neal made me 2 eggs and an english muffin for breakfast. What. A. Guy!
While on the train, I read through the November issue of EveryDay with Rachel Ray and started brainstorming holiday meals.
I struggled with whether or not to use my free Starbucks birthday drink on my birthday, but decided to save it for another day…
3 hours later, I changed my mind! I ordered a venti skim salted caramel mocha (half the pumps of syrup WITH whip! It was heaven in a cup.
After work I raced home to be with my boys and was greeted by the most adorable birthday presents ever!
Neal had a “European Theme” for the night and started by writing out a few messages in Haribo gummy letters. So cute!
Neal gave me a beautiful card and then two dvds to replace some VHS tapes I have.
After a little puppy playtime, Neal and I headed out for dinner and a movie.
For dinner, Neal and I decided to visit a new Greek restaurant in Rockville, MD called Trapezaria.
Neal and I ordered the spanakopita as an appetizer and then I ordered a salad with grilled pork for dinner. It was wonderful!
After dinner we headed to the movies to see Gravity. For months I’ve been hating on this movie as I just didn’t get it. Still don’t really. It was an intense movie and though I didn’t really get the storyline, the graphics and animation were amazing!
When we got home Neal surprised me with dessert. He heated up milk so that we could use the chocolate spoons we had bought in Luxembourg during our honeymoon. He also purchased some Stroopwafels at World Market to remind us of Amsterdam.
Neal knows me too well and I really appreciated him creating a European themed birthday for me! I love Europe, so it was nice being able to enjoy pieces of it throughout the evening.
After dessert I was able to talk to my brother Paul, my best friend Stephanie, and my beautiful sister Alison. I missed a call from my awesome brother Christopher and parents while at the movies, but I was so grateful to receive calls from all of them! Each of them hold HUGE pieces of my heart!
Just before midnight, Neal and I headed to bed. As I turned down the bead, I was overjoyed by the Little Mermaid DVD that was hiding under my pillow! The Disney vault seems to open every October and I’ve been dying to get this movieon DVD. YAY! It was the perfect ending to a wonderful, wonderful day!
Again, thank you to everyone for making my day special! I appreciate it more than you know.
