Man it feels good to be back in DC. The past few days in Iowa have been a lot of fun, but I’m eager to get back into a routine for a while. Thankfully we’re not planning to travel anymore this fall so it gives us a chance to buckle down, settle in, and enjoy the cooler weather here in DC.
Saturday Neal and I attended his cousin Michael’s wedding and had a wonderful time!
Yesterday we were able to enjoy the day in Grinnell, kicking it off with a long run around town.
As I shared Saturday, the plan for Sunday was to run 7 miles but my legs were not having it. I was cramping, my legs were super tight, and each mile hurt more than the last. It just wasn’t my day.
I finished the run at 4 miles and did it in 50:46.6. As I said on my Instagram, onto the next run!
Now that we’re back in DC, I really need to focus on some basics. Traveling, eating out, and not planning ahead have taken their toll on how I’m feeling both mentally and physically, so it’s time to turn things around! I still feel worlds better than I did mid summer, but it’s time to get back on track.
The Plan…
1. Drink more water!!! – I have sucked at drinking my water every day. Coffee and Spark are awesome, but I’ve got to get more plan water in my system!
2. Meal plan – I go back and forth with meal planning. When life is busy I find that meal planning works really well for me. When life is calm, I tend to just go with the flow. For now, it’s back to meal planning (more on that tomorrow).
3. Follow my running schedule – It’s hard to believe the Army 10 Miler race is in about a month. It’s time to buckle down and make the most of my mid week runs.
4. X-train – My workouts have been all over the place the past two weeks. I want to get back into my routine and enjoy my non-running workouts. Can’t wait to go to spin this Friday!
5. Continue to fuel my body pre and post workout! – I really enjoy Rehydrate during my workouts and the Post-Workout Recovery afterwards. I always see a huge difference when I fuel myself properly.
I’m excited to get back on track and to continue my quest to live a happy and healthy life. I’m feeling so much better about my body since letting go of extreme dieting this summer and want to stay focused on eating healthy, working out, and fueling my body with supplements to support my system. I haven’t talked about my goals in a while, so it’s probably time to update y’all on that too…
So how are y’all feeling these days?
If you’re needing to get back on track, start now! Make a list of what you need to get back to and start right away! Don’t wait until tomorrow!
Spend the next few days thinking about your goals and what it’ll take to get there. It’s also helpful to make a list of what keeps you from losing weight or reaching your goals. Cheese, not eating enough at lunch, and sweets are my downfall.
You can do this!! Get things back on track and start moving forward before the holiday season gets here. Now is the time!
