At the start of my Shakeology review week 4, something clicked! I weighed in at 230.4 and realized that I had to be consistent if I wanted to lose weight.
I started 2013 weighing 230.6 and have spent the past 6 months floating just below or above that weight (highest weight being 235.2, lowest weight being 225.4) . I’ve worked really hard this year, battling to figure out how to break my two year rut in the 220s, but clearly something just hasn’t clicked yet.
Week 3 of the Shakeology challenge brought about a lot of clarity and it was that clarity that carried me into week 4.
Day 22 – Monday, June 24
My calories were low on day 22 but I felt really great throughout the day. Shakeology kept be full until lunch and then the quinoa and Kind bar kept me feeling great until dinner. Before I get crap for this day, I just don’t believe in eating just to eat. I wasn’t hungry…
Breakfast: Almond milk, PB2, Shakeology, black coffee, and creamer (342 calories at 6:45AM)
Lunch: Quinoa, cherry tomatoes, onions, beets, olive oil (338 calories at 12:00PM)
Snack: Kind bar (210 calories at 3:00PM)
Dinner: 1 tortilla, refried beans, avocado, cheese, and carne asada (532 calories at 6:00PM)
Total calories: 1,422 calories
Workout: 20 minutes on Arc Trainer and weight lifting workout
Day 23 – Tuesday, June 25
Another great day! I was really busy at work, which kept me from thinking about food.
Breakfast: Almond milk, PB2, Shakeology, coffee, and creamer (377 calories at 6:45AM)
Lunch: Quinoa, cherry tomatoes, onions, beets, olive oil, avocado, and 4 turkey meatballs (658 calories at 12:00PM)
Snack: Kind bar (200 calories at 4:00PM)
Dinner: 2 tortillas, refried beans, and cheese (370 calories at 6:00PM)
Snack: Beer (176 calories at 7:00PM)
Total calories: 1,781 calories
Day 24 – Wednesday, June 26
SURPRISE!! Guess who ordered another bag of Shakeology?? Well after hearing about the new vanilla flavor, I decided to give it a try. As I neared the end of my 4th week I was really starting to get into a grove and was really understanding what had been holding me back… myself.
Breakfast: Almond milk, PB2, vanilla Shakeology, strawberries, black coffee, and creamer (396 calories at 6:45AM)
Snack: Kind bar (170 calories at 10:30AM)
Lunch: Pad Thai with Shrimp (570 calories at 12:00PM)
Dinner: 2 piece of Ezekiel bread, 2 eggs, 1/2 an avocado, and 1 slice of cheese (530 calories at 6:00PM)
Snack: Edy’s Acai Blueberry Bar
Total calories: 1,726 calories
Workout: 20 minutes on spin bike and weight lifting workout
Day 25 – Thursday, June 27
The awesome week just kept on rolling with day 25! I felt great and was eager to attend football practice that night! I did not however have a Shakeology shake…
Breakfast: 2 piece of Ezekiel bread, 2 eggs, 1 slice cheese, coffee, and creamer (409 calories at 6:45AM)
Lunch: 4 turkey meatballs and 1/3 an avocado (280 calories at 12:00PM)
Snack: Kind bar (200 calories at 2:00PM)
Dinner: 2 tortillas, cheese, chicken breast, and glass of milk (845 calories at 6:00PM)
Total calories: 1,734 calories
Workout: 2 hour football practice
Day 26 – Friday, June 28
Friday I was DETERMINED to be healthy and not to ruin my week! Again, I understand my calories were low but I ate healthy and was full after each meal.
Breakfast: vanilla shakeology, PB2, almond milk, black coffee, and creamer (287 calories at 6:45AM)
Snack: blueberries and iced coffee (83 calories at 11AM)
Lunch: 1 potato roll, chicken, 1 slice cheese, mustard, and broccoli (300 calories at 12:30PM)
Dinner: Thai lime shrimp, brown rice, scallions (300 calories at 5:30PM)
Snack: 1/2 a mint oreo blizzard (340 calories at 9:00PM)
Total calories: 1,315 calories
Day 27 – Saturday, June 29
After making it through Friday, I was incredibly excited about the weekend ahead! I had 2 big workouts planned on day 27 and made sure to fuel myself for it
Breakfast: 2 eggs, scallions, vanilla Shakeology, butterscotch pudding powder, almond milk, black coffee, and creamer (374 calories at 9:00AM)
Lunch: Thai fresh burrito and juice at South Block Cafe (773 calories at 2:00PM)
Dinner: Pita bread, hummus, mixed grill kabob, rice, and salad (762 calories at 6:00PM)
Total calories: 1,909 calories
Workout: Bootcamp and spin class
Day 28 – Sunday, June 30
Sunday was an emotional day. The day started out great, but the event I attended at the end of the day was emotionally draining.
Breakfast: Almond milk, PB2, vanilla Shakeology, strawberries, black coffee, and creamer (307 calories at 8:00AM)
Lunch: Potato roll, beef brisket, baked beans, and 1/2 sweet tea 1/2 unsweeted iced tea (726 calories at 12:30PM)
Dinner: 3 small appetizers (beet salad on toast, raw corn salad, and gazpacho), Sweetgreen July seasonal salad with light dressing (640 calories at 9:15PM)
Total calories: 1,673 calories
Workout: 15 minute HIIT workout, 15 minute barre workout, and 15 minute yoga workout
I had a really great 4th week! I counted my calories, had great workouts, and felt great about myself! Being able to look back on those 3 things and to feel great about them really made the number on the scale not matter.
