7 Week Challenge: Kickoff

Today is the official kickoff of the 7 week challenge. Over the next 7 weeks I invite you to make a change. Change your habits. Change your diet. Change your workouts. Change your life. Come June 21, the first day of summer, I hope you’ll well better about yourself and your life, ready to enjoy every moment of the summer months.

Ashley

4 weeks ago I started reading “How To Have Your Cake and Your Skinny Jeans Too”, which has truly changed my mentality and approach to my goals. 4 weeks ago I stopped restricting myself. I stopped putting foods into categories, unhealthy or healthy for example.

Ashley

At first it felt like a free for all, eating my favorite “off limits foods” and allowing myself to be ok with it. I ordered foods I have never allowed myself to order and I enjoyed every bite.

Ashley

4 weeks later, those foods are just foods. They are foods I can have any time I want to and because no foods are off limits, I truly don’t care for those former tempting foods the way I use to. Do I still love Nutella?? Neck yes, but now that I know I can have it whenever, I actually don’t want it as much. The thrill is gone and the desire to binge eat is gone too.

Ashley

Now I still over eat from time to time, which is what I’m working on right now, but it’s pretty awesome knowing that no foods are off limits.  As I kick off my personal 7 week challenge, I am focusing on my goals…

  • Eat only when hungry (my signal is when my tummy actually growls)
  • Stop eating when I’m satisfied
  • Eat more fruits and veggies
  • Push myself during football practice and games
  • Workout at least 2 times outside of football practice each week
  • Do my skin care routine every night and morning
  • Clean out my closet, getting rid of clothes I don’t feel great in and keeping clothes I’m comfortable in or ones I want to feel more comfortable in
  • Weigh in every Friday

I have no idea what the end result will be but I not so secretly hope I’ll weigh less than 220 come June 21!  I am beyond ready to be out of the 220s.  I want to eat healthy, lift heavy, push myself in my workouts, and hopefully at the end of it all I’ll weight less than 220.

Ashley

So here it is…

  • Starting weight: 230.0

and my starting measurements…

  • Neck – 15 inches
  • Bust – 45.5 inches
  • Bicep – 13.5 inches
  • Waist – 40 inches
  • Waist (across belly button) – 42.5 inches
  • Abdomen – 45.5 inches
  • Hips – 47 inches
  • Quad – 24 inches
  • Calf – 15.5 inches

For those of you starting the challenge today, don’t be discouraged with where you’re starting.  This can be the last time you see that number or feel the way you do.  I am discouraged to see 230 on the scale, but you know what, it is what it is.  My goal is to lose 10 pounds before June 21, through healthy eating, portion control, and exercise.

Now it’s your turn, what’s your goal?
