Last night Neal and I went on a much needed date!! It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our schedules and commitments, making it really important for us to get out of the house and to go on dates.
Last night we went to see 42, which was an absolutely amazing movie!! Every year I watch baseball on Jackie Robinson day, but it wasn’t until seeing 42 that I really understood why it is such a special day.
The actors in this movie were just wonderful and the movie was done so well. That’s how a historical sports movie should be done!
After the movie we went out for sushi at Sushi Damo.
Neal and I both love sushi, but we’ve yet to find a favorite place near our new apartment. Sushi Damo is more “upscale” I guess, bringing us hot towels and all when we sat down.
To start, we ordered edamame…
And then 3 rolls of sushi, though I’ll tell you, we never know how much sushi to order for 2. We either under order or over order.
My favorite roll was the Bonfire (far right), which was made with smoked salmon. Neal’s favorite was the Breakfast at Tiffany’s (far left), which was made with sweet potato, cream cheese, and salmon.
We liked Sushi Damo, but will be looking for a cheaper restaurant. It was good, but not THAT good.
It was really great being able to get out of the house with Neal, away from our puppy, and to enjoy a night out.
