Have you ever noticed how your mornings can affect your entire day? Do you ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed and stay on that side of the bed until it’s bedtime?
What you do from the time you wake up until you leave your home can make a world of a difference in how the rest of your day goes! You’ve got to make the most of your mornings!
The key is being in control of your mornings! My mornings really start the night before when I decide what time I’m going to bed and what time I’m waking up. If I stay up until midnight, getting up at 5:30AM isn’t all that realistic. Sleep is incredibly important, for many reasons, and I’ve found that it can make or break your day.
Don’t discount sleeping in from time to time, but I think there’s something to be said about getting up early and making the most of those hours before you go to work.
Here are some of my recommendations for making the most of your mornings…
- Workout!! You’ll never regret starting your day with a calorie burn
- Sit in your PJs, watch the Today Show, and sip coffee
- Paint your nails
- Do a load of laundry
- Clean up around the house
- Read a book or a magazine while you eat breakfast
- Do your makeup and your hair
I know it can be difficult for parents, as their mornings are dedicated to their kids, but I hope that you find a way to have a moment of peace before the day gets going. Wake up a little earlier, take a bath, sip a hot cup of tea, or jam out to music while you put the dishes away. Whatever it is, make a decision to make the most of your mornings and to start your day on the right foot!
This morning I slept in until 7:15AM, took a shower, made myself a cup of coffee, put on my new favorite shirt, blow dried my hair, put on some makeup, and was out the door on time. I made the most of my morning and am feeling great!
