Revolve Cycle Studio

This past Thursday night I was invited to Revolve Cycle Studio to take a spin class with a group of Washington, DC bloggers.  I am a sucker for spin classes, so I was really excited to take a class at this new-to-me studio.

Revolve is located in Arlington, VA, down the street from the Clarendon metro.  Sadly it’s not close to my work or home, but I could totally picture myself coming to the studio on weekends for classes.

The first thing to catch my eye when I walked into the studio were all of the spin shoes.

Revolve’s spin bikes require spin shoes, so you can either bring your own or for $2 you can rent a pair from them.  Although I’ve taken spin classes for years, this was actually my first time taking a class with spin shoes.

I tell you what… I am a believer!!! The ride was completely different.  I felt more in control, more powerful, and truly felt like I got more out of the ride itself.  I will definitely be investing in a pair of spin shoes this year!

After mingling with some of my fellow DC Fit Bloggers, we headed into the studio for a class.

Our instructor, Francina, took a few minutes to go around the room and have us introduce ourselves and our blogs.  I loved meeting some of the bloggers for the first time (Melissa, Allison, Melody, Sara), seeing bloggers I’ve met before (Anne), and hearing about some new blogs (Sarah, Molly, Sana, Kristine)!

Francina was by far one of the best spin instructors I’ve ever taken a class with.  She was so energetic, had us up and out of our seats a brunch, and had the BEST playlist!!  Francina’s playlist for the evening had a Las Vegas theme, featuring songs about money, sex, and risks.  It. Was. Awesome!  Nothing better than an instructor who jams out to Gold Digger halfway through the class.

Afterwards Goûter provided us with a sampling of their tonics.  I tried the digest tonic and the refuel tonic.  Both were very good but I loved the refuel tonic!  Coconut anyone?

The evening was such a blast.  I loved seeing and meeting more DC Bloggers while getting an awesome workout in!  A huge thank you to Revolve for the invitation and spin class and to Goûter for the tonics!

Have you ever taken a spin class?  Do you wear tennis shoes or spin shoes?
