It’s been a while since I’ve done a “day in the life” post so I thought I’d take y’all through my Monday! My Monday really started on Sunday when I created my plan for the week. Before going to bed Sunday night I already knew I would be getting up early to get a workout in.
5:40AM – First alarm goes off… followed by my 5:45AM alarm. Thankfully I didn’t need the 6:00AM alarm and was up and out of bed by 6AM.
6:05AM – I woke up one sleepy puppy and too him outside to go potty.
6:20AM – Headed out the door and to the gym. Thankfully I live above my gym so it takes me just a few minutes to get down there.
6:25AM – Started my workout on the Arc Trainer. I cranked out 30 minutes on this baby, breaking a pretty good sweat. If you’re looking for a good workout in a short amount of time, hop on this machine!
6:55AM – Busted out a few kettle bell exercises (single arm cleans and upright rows)
7:05AM – Headed home after my workout and made myself a cup of coffee right away
7:15AM – As I forgot to cook this rice pilaf on Sunday I quickly brought a pot of water to boil for this week’s lunches. I’ve always been a fan of this rice pilaf (helllllo lentils) and knew I could stretch it far this week.
7:25AM – I hopped into the shower and got ready for work
7:45AM – For breakfast I sauteed 1/2 cup of mushrooms with 4 slices of turkey bacon. Once cooked through I added the mixture to a tortilla filled with 1 laughing cow cheese wedge. SO yummy and just 323 calories.
8:00AM – Pack Neal’s and my lunch. Sandwiches, chips, and yogurt for him… pilaf, veggie patty, and veggie for me.
8:20AM – Hop on the metro train and head to work
9:00AM – Started the work day by filling up my Nalgene water bottle. My goal for the day was to drink 4 bottles!
9:10AM – Fire alarm goes off, so I head outside and check out the March “snow”
11:15AM – My breakfast kept me full most of the morning but these tangerines were perfect before lunch.
12:30PM – Lunch time! I enjoyed 1 cup of pilaf, 1 black bean patty from Lightlife, and 1 cup of bell peppers.
2:30PM – Snack time!! On Friday I bought my first Quest bar and have since bought 8 more! Yesterday I tried out the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor which was very delicious!
5:10PM – Jumped on the work shuttle and headed to the metro.
5:20PM – Crammed myself into a packed train.
6:05PM – Made it home and made Greek Frozen Yogurt right away. Isn’t that what y’all do right when you get home? Recipe coming tomorrow!
6:40PM – I started cooking during while the ice cream was churning. On the menu, steak!
7:00PM – I served my steak on top of a bead of butter lettuce along with light sour cream, light cheese, and salsa. The perfect dinner!
7:40PM – Our fur ball was getting a little too furry so we furminated him!
8:00PM – BIGGEST LOSER FINALE!!!
8:40PM – I enjoyed 1/2 cup of frozen Greek yogurt, with sprinkles on top of course! (Recipe will be on my blog tomorrow!!)
10:15PM – I closed out the day re-reading my favorite chapter of Jillian Michaels’ Slim for Life while Neal watched Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
10:40PM – Fast asleep
It was a good day and not a bad start to the week.
